Getting Information from Images

Spend 5 minutes looking at these 4 images, thinking about the questions below, then write down your answers. You will be asked to share your ideas with two other people and make a combined list of questions to share with the rest of the class.

1. An image is a picture of something. A drawing is one type of image. Can you think of other types of images? What are they?

2. Does the amount of sea ice around Antarctica change from the summer to the winter? Why is that so?
3. When salty water freezes, what happens to the salt?
4. When the solar energy from the sun strikes the ice and snow, what happens to the air temperature? What effect might this have on the climate?
